We went through something similar when my husband had his gum graft done. Regular ice packs were a total painβ€”he kept shifting around, grumbling about them sliding off every five minutes. Eventually, we stumbled onto those strap-on packs too, and it was night and day. He could actually relax and watch TV without constantly readjusting. Glad you found something that works; recovery is stressful enough without battling slippery towels and melting ice cubes everywhere, lol. Hope your daughter's feeling better now!

Those strap-on ice packs are seriously underrated. Had gum surgery myself last year and remember the frustration of chasing ice cubes around my faceβ€”total nightmare, lol. Glad things got easier for you guys, and hope your daughter's bouncing back quickly. Gum stuff is no joke...

Totally get why you'd say that, but honestly, I've found reusable gel packs way easier to manage. Had gum surgery a couple years back and the strap-ons were kinda bulky for meβ€”couldn't get comfy, especially trying to rest. Gel packs mold nicely around your jawline and stay flexible longer. Just pop 'em in the fridge (not freezer!) for steady cooling without the harsh chill. Either way, glad your daughter's feeling better... gum procedures definitely test your patience.

Yeah, gel packs are handy, but honestly those strap-ons saved us big time. My son kept shifting around, and the strap-ons stayed put without constant adjusting. Guess it depends on how restless your kid is... gum surgery recovery is no joke.

Haha, I hear ya on the strap-ons being bulky. I tried them at first too, but honestly, they felt like I had some weird astronaut helmet strapped to my faceβ€”couldn't relax at all. Ended up ditching them pretty quick and just went old-school with frozen peas wrapped in a towel. Cheap, comfy, and bonus points: dinner was sorted once I healed up. 😂

But yeah, totally depends on the person (or kid, in your case). If you've got a squirmer, I can see how the strap-ons would be a lifesaver. For me, though, budget-friendly DIY ice packs were the way to go. Gum surgery recovery is rough enough without feeling like you're suiting up for a space mission every time you ice your face...
