Just learned something kinda random after getting my wisdom teeth yanked yesterday... apparently pineapple juice can actually help with swelling and healing? I mean, who knew. My sister swears by it, says the bromelain in pineapple reduces inflammation or something. I'm skeptical but hey, sipping pineapple juice beats sitting around miserable, right?

Anyway, I'm stocked up on ice packs, applesauce, and mashed potatoes. Netflix is queued up too (finally gonna binge that show everyone's been bugging me about). But I'm curious if there's anything else random or surprising people found helpful after oral surgery. Like stuff you wouldn't immediately think of but turned out to be a lifesaver. Or maybe something you thought would help but totally didn't... I heard straws are a definite no-go, which sucks cause smoothies would be perfect rn.

Anyways, drop your tips or weird facts—I'm bored and swollen-faced over here, lol.

I remember being skeptical about the pineapple juice thing too, but honestly, it seemed to help me a bit—or maybe it was just placebo, who knows. One random thing that saved me was actually sleeping propped up on a bunch of pillows. I usually sleep flat, but elevating my head really helped with swelling overnight. Also, weirdly enough, lukewarm tea bags (like black tea) gently placed on the gums helped ease some of the soreness. My grandma swore by it, and I thought she was just being old-school, but turns out there's something legit about the tannins reducing inflammation.

And yeah, straws are definitely a no-go. I learned that the hard way—dry socket is no joke. Smoothies are still doable though; just spoon them carefully. Hang in there, recovery sucks but at least you have Netflix and mashed potatoes...could be worse, right?
