So lately my gums felt kinda tender and brushing hurt a bit...switched to one of those toothpastes that claim to help gums. Honestly, after a week it actually feels better. Anyone else tried these? Curious if it's just me or they legit work.

Yeah, I've tried one of those gum-focused toothpastes too. Had a similar experience—my gums were feeling sensitive and kinda swollen, especially around the back teeth. Switched to a toothpaste specifically for gum health (think it was Parodontax or something similar), and within about two weeks things felt noticeably better. Not sure if it's just the toothpaste or maybe I subconsciously started brushing more carefully because I was paying attention...but either way, it seemed to help.

One thing I'd say though—don't rely solely on toothpaste if you think it's gingivitis. Flossing regularly and using a soft-bristle brush made a huge difference for me long-term. Toothpaste helps, but it's probably not the whole story. Have you changed anything else in your routine lately?

Yeah, totally agree with you on the flossing and soft brush thing. I started using Sensodyne Gum Care recently because my gums were getting sensitive and bleeding a bit... freaked me out honestly. After about a week, it seemed to settle down, but I'm not sure if it's just the toothpaste or because I got paranoid and started flossing every night, haha. Either way, gums feel way better now, but I still keep checking them in the mirror like a weirdo.

I had a similar scare a while back—my gums started bleeding randomly when brushing, and I immediately jumped to worst-case scenarios (thanks, Google...). I switched to Sensodyne too, but honestly, I think the flossing made the bigger difference. Before that, I'd floss maybe once a week if I remembered, but after the bleeding started, I got super anxious and started flossing religiously every night. Within a week or two, things improved dramatically.

Not knocking Sensodyne though—it definitely helped with sensitivity—but from what I've read, consistent flossing is key to reversing early gingivitis. Now I'm paranoid enough that if I skip even one night of flossing, I swear my gums feel weird the next day. Probably just psychological at this point, but hey... better safe than sorry, right?
