Did your dentist mention anything about age affecting sensitivity? My daughter had hers whitened recently (she's 16), and even though we did the sensitive toothpaste prep, she still complained about sharp pains for a couple days after. I felt awful—maybe younger teeth react differently? Or could it be hormonal or something...? Now I'm hesitant to let her do another session, even shorter ones. Just curious if anyone else noticed age playing a role in sensitivity levels.

Interesting point, but in my experience, age isn't usually the main factor—it's more about individual enamel thickness and tooth sensitivity levels. Did your dentist consider fluoride varnish treatments beforehand? Sometimes that helps reduce discomfort afterward...

I had a similar thought at first, wondering if age or hormones played a role, but honestly, I think it's mostly down to individual sensitivity. When I got my teeth whitened last year, the dentist suggested fluoride varnish too, but I skipped it to save money (tight budget at the time...). Big mistake—I had sensitivity for days afterward. Learned my lesson there, haha. Next time I'll definitely go for the fluoride treatment, even if it costs a bit extra.

Totally relate to that fluoride thing... I skipped it once too, thinking it was just an upsell, but boy did I regret it. Sensitivity was no joke for days. Glad you figured it out though—definitely worth the extra few bucks next time around.

Haha, yep, learned this the hard way myself. Fluoride seems like a small thing, but it really makes a difference. Now I always budget for it—beats spending days wincing every time I sip coffee...
