I totally get the sensitivity worry. I had mine whitened professionally last year, and honestly, it wasn't as bad as I expected. My dentist used some kind of desensitizing gel beforehand, which helped a ton. Still felt a few zings here and there afterward, but nothing unbearable.

"Honestly, I think everyone's teeth react differently."
Exactly this—my friend did the same treatment and barely felt anything at all... lucky her, lol. Just make sure you mention your sensitivity concerns upfront so they can prep accordingly.

Your experience sounds pretty similar to mine—my dentist also used a desensitizing gel, and it definitely helped. I still remember bracing myself for some horrible sensitivity afterward, but honestly... it was just a few random zings here and there. Nothing too dramatic, thankfully. I've heard some horror stories though, so I guess we're the lucky ones, haha. Definitely agree that mentioning sensitivity upfront is key—makes the whole process way less stressful.

Did you guys find the desensitizing gel made a huge difference? I'm scheduled for my first whitening next week, and honestly, I'm pretty nervous about the sensitivity. Did your dentist apply it before or after the whitening treatment? Also, how long did those random zings last—just a few hours, or did they linger for days? Sorry for all the questions... just trying to mentally prepare myself, haha.

Mine did it after, and honestly, it helped a bit but wasn't magic. Those random zings lasted about a day...felt like my teeth were texting me reminders of how broke I was after paying for whitening, lol.

Mine applied it before, said it would help reduce sensitivity. Honestly, I still got those random jolts afterward, but maybe not as intense as yours sound. Felt more like my teeth were gently nagging me about spending money on vanity at my age, haha. Either way, it faded pretty quick—by the next morning, things were back to normal.
