Haha, smoothies were my go-to as well. I remember once I thought I'd be brave and try ice cream afterward—big mistake. The cold sensitivity was no joke... lesson learned! But yeah, shorter sessions definitely made a difference for me too. Also found that using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth a week or two before starting treatments helped ease things a bit. Might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet.

Oof, ice cream right after whitening? That's some bravery right there... or maybe just madness, lol. I usually stick to room-temp stuff for a day or two. Sensitive toothpaste beforehand is a solid tip though, definitely helps ease the zings.

Sensitive toothpaste is honestly a lifesaver—I used to dread whitening appointments because of the sensitivity afterward. Once I made the mistake of drinking iced coffee the next morning thinking I'd be fine. Nope... felt like tiny lightning bolts hitting my teeth, lol. Now I stick strictly to lukewarm tea or smoothies for at least a day or two. Definitely learned that lesson the hard way.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. Did your dentist give you fluoride gel afterward? Mine recommended it for sensitivity, and honestly it made a huge difference. I also learned to steer clear of acidic stuff like orange juice for a few days—made that mistake once, never again. Have you tried drinking through a straw? Sounds silly, but it helps bypass sensitive spots.

Haha, the straw thing isn't silly at all...been there, done that. Honestly, your description was spot-on:

"felt like tiny lightning bolts hitting my teeth, lol."

Seriously, that's exactly how I'd describe it too. Fluoride gel definitely helps, but I also found brushing with sensitive toothpaste for a week or two before whitening made it way more manageable. Hang in there though—once the sensitivity chills out, the results are totally worth it.
