I've had similar issues myself, and honestly, it can be pretty frustrating figuring out what helps. For me, toothpaste didn't do much either, but what really made a difference was avoiding super hot or cold drinks for a while after whitening. I also started brushing slower and lighter—felt weird at first, but it helped ease the sensitivity over time. Like you said though, everyone's teeth react differently...so it's mostly trial and error, I guess.

Yeah, toothpaste was a bust for me too. Honestly, I just stuck to room-temp water for a few days after whitening—boring, but cheap and effective, lol. Also found out the hard way that biting into ice cream right after is basically dental torture...lesson learned. Slowing down brushing helped a bit, but mostly I just waited it out. Teeth sensitivity is no joke!

Totally feel you on the ice cream thing—been there, done that, and ouch is right. Honestly, I think the sensitivity varies a lot from person to person. My dentist recommended using a fluoride rinse after whitening, and it actually helped me quite a bit. Didn't completely eliminate the sensitivity, but definitely took the edge off. Might be worth a shot if you ever decide to whiten again.

Also, I found that avoiding acidic stuff (like citrus or soda) for a few days afterward made a noticeable difference. I know it's annoying to limit your diet even more, but it beats feeling like your teeth are zapped every time you eat something cold or sweet. Hang in there though—it usually gets better pretty quickly. And hey, at least your teeth look great now, right?

Yeah, fluoride rinse definitely helped me too, but did anyone else notice their gums feeling a bit irritated afterward? Mine felt kinda raw for a day or two, even though the dentist said it was normal. Maybe I'm just extra sensitive or something...

Also, curious if anyone tried those sensitivity toothpastes beforehand? My dentist mentioned using one for a week or two before whitening to prep the teeth. I didn't do it last time, but now I'm wondering if it actually makes a noticeable difference. And speaking of diet restrictions, coffee was the hardest thing for me to give up—even temporarily. Did you guys manage to avoid coffee completely, or did you just drink it through a straw or something? I tried the straw method, but honestly, it felt kinda ridiculous and didn't seem to help much anyway.

I had the same gum irritation issue after fluoride rinses—you're definitely not alone there. Sensitivity toothpaste beforehand made a noticeable difference for me, though. As for coffee...I just cut back a bit, couldn't give it up completely either. The straw thing felt awkward and didn't help much.
