I’ve stuck with the toothbrush and mild soap route for years now, and honestly, it’s never failed me.

I totally get the “chemistry set” vibe from those tablets—never could get past that taste either. I’m with you on the toothbrush and mild soap, but I do get a little nervous about soap residue if I’m in a rush. The hard case is a lifesaver, though. I’ve seen too many retainers get crushed in bags when people try to just wrap them in tissue or toss them loose. The pouch idea sounds neat, but I’d still want something rigid for backup... maybe I’m just paranoid, but I’ve seen too many retainer casualties over the years.

I’m with you on the hard case—those things are practically armor for retainers. I’ve seen more than one get snapped in half from a suitcase mishap. Mild soap works for me too, but yeah, if I’m rushing, I always triple-rinse... just in case.
