Had to get a root canal recently and learned the hard way to call my insurance BEFORE scheduling the appointment. Saved me a headache and a chunk of cash...anyone got other dental insurance hacks?

That's definitely a valuable lesson—insurance fine print can be surprisingly tricky to navigate. I've been considering a second opinion on some dental work myself, and now I'm wondering if checking with insurance beforehand would also cover consultations. Did your insurance mention anything about coverage for second opinions or specialist referrals? Might be worth investigating before I dive deeper into appointments...

Good point about second opinions—insurance companies can be weirdly picky about that stuff. Mine covered a specialist referral once, but only after my dentist submitted extra paperwork. Maybe worth calling to double-check before you book anything...?
