I dunno, sometimes second opinions just make me more anxious... I usually trust my dentist since he's known me forever. But

"Glad I checked because it saved me a lot of hassle"
does make me wonder if I'm being too trusting sometimes.

I totally get where you're coming from... second opinions can definitely ramp up anxiety, especially if you're already comfortable with your dentist. But honestly, it's not about distrusting your dentist—it's just about peace of mind. I used to feel the same way until a friend caught something minor that my regular dentist overlooked. It wasn't a huge deal, but it made me realize even great dentists can miss stuff occasionally. Doesn't hurt to double-check sometimes, just to ease your mind.

Yeah, I feel the same anxiety about second opinions... but honestly, dental stuff can escalate quickly if missed. My cousin ignored a minor issue that turned into a root canal nightmare. Better safe than sorry, even if it feels awkward at first.

I totally get the anxiety around dental stuff, especially second opinions... been there myself with my kid. But sometimes, rushing into extra procedures can also cause unnecessary stress (and bills!). Last year, our dentist recommended fillings for two tiny cavities on my daughter's baby teeth. Decided to wait and monitor closely instead. Turns out they never progressed, and she lost those teeth naturally anyway. So yeah, caution is good, but sometimes a wait-and-see approach can be just as valid.

That's reassuring to hear... I've always been super cautious with dental stuff too, but sometimes I wonder if I'm overdoing it. Last year, my dentist said I needed braces for a slight overbite—nothing major, but enough to make me anxious. Got a second opinion and ended up waiting it out. Still monitoring things closely, and honestly, nothing's really changed. Definitely agree that sometimes it's better to hold off and just keep an eye on things... saves stress (and money) in the long run.
