Hypothetical scenario: you get your teeth cleaned at the dentist, everything feels fine at first, but then later that day you bite into ice cream and BAMβ€”instant regret. Um...would you just wait it out or call the dentist back?

I've been there, and honestly, I wouldn't rush to call the dentist right away. Sometimes after a cleaning, your teeth can get a bit sensitive because they've removed all the plaque buildup that was kinda shielding them. Usually settles down in a day or two. Maybe skip the ice cream (I know, bummer...) and stick to room-temp stuff for now. If it keeps bugging you after a few days though, then yeah, probably worth checking in with them.

Haha, can confirmβ€”my daughter had the same issue after her last cleaning. She was pretty disappointed when I had to veto her post-dentist milkshake tradition. Sensitivity usually eased up after a day or two, though. Dentist mentioned something about exposed dentin causing temporary sensitivity...nothing serious, just annoying. If it drags on past a few days, might be worth a quick call, but otherwise, patience (and lukewarm snacks) should do the trick.
