Floaty describes it perfectlyβI had laughing gas a few times, and yeah, it faded pretty quick for me too. IV sedation knocked me out longer, but everyone reacts differently...glad you found something that worked comfortably for you.
"IV sedation knocked me out longer, but everyone reacts differently..."
Yeah, totally agree with this. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out, laughing gas barely touched meβI was still pretty aware of everything going on, just felt kinda relaxed. IV sedation, though...that was a whole different story. I woke up feeling like I'd had the best nap ever, haha. Did anyone else feel super hungry afterward? I swear I ate like three bowls of ice cream that day...
Haha, three bowls of ice cream sounds about right... I definitely felt hungry too, but weirdly, all I wanted was mashed potatoes. Laughing gas didn't do much for me eitherβIV sedation was way smoother and easier overall. Glad yours went well!
I totally get what you mean about the mashed potatoes... after my extraction, all I wanted was warm soup and soft bread. Ice cream sounded good in theory, but the cold actually made me more anxious about sensitivity. Laughing gas didn't really help me eitherβit just made me feel kind of dizzy and weirdly aware of everything going on. IV sedation was definitely better for my nerves, though I was super nervous beforehand about needles and stuff. Did anyone else feel a bit groggy or emotional afterward? I remember feeling oddly teary-eyed for no reason once I got home. Maybe it was just relief that it was over, haha. Did your dentist mention anything about emotional reactions being common after sedation?
"Did anyone else feel a bit groggy or emotional afterward? I remember feeling oddly teary-eyed for no reason once I got home."
Glad it wasn't just me... I legit started tearing up over a TV commercial about dog food afterward, lol. Dentist didn't mention anything about emotional stuff, but maybe sedation just messes with us more anxious folks?
