Totally get your point about apples—they're sneakier than people realize. I once cracked a filling biting into a "healthy" granola bar, so now I'm suspicious of anything that pretends to be good for me. 😂 Caramel corn still makes me nervous though...it's the kernels hiding in there that freak me out. You never know when one's gonna ambush you.

I stick to soft caramel squares myself—those individually wrapped ones are great. They satisfy my sweet tooth without sending me into dental panic mode every bite. Plus, no surprise kernel attacks! Floss picks are handy, sure, but I'd rather dodge the stress altogether.

Soft caramels are nice, sure...but let's be real, they stick to your teeth like glue. I've lost count of the times I've nearly yanked out a crown trying to chew through one of those individually wrapped devils. Personally, I've found chocolate-covered marshmallows to be the safest sweet-tooth fix—soft enough not to threaten my dental work and still tasty enough to feel indulgent. Caramel's nice, but I'm not risking another emergency dentist trip for it.

Haha, caramel is definitely a sneaky culprit when it comes to dental mishaps. I've seen more than a few crowns fall victim to those sticky treats. Curious though, anyone had similar trouble with gummy candies or are they safer territory?

Gummies aren't exactly safe either... had a filling pop out once thanks to some sour gummy worms. They're sneaky too, because you think they're softer and less risky than caramel, but they stick around just enough to cause trouble. My dentist actually warned me about gummies specifically—said they're notorious for pulling out dental work. Guess nothing chewy is really safe territory, huh?

I get what you're saying about gummies being sneaky, but honestly, I think it depends a lot on the type and how you eat them. I've always been super anxious about dental stuff—like, borderline paranoid—and I remember my first filling vividly. Afterward, I was terrified to eat anything remotely chewy. But weirdly enough, gummies never gave me trouble. Caramel, though? Total nightmare. One time I bit into a caramel apple at a fair (rookie mistake, I know), and it felt like my tooth was gonna come right out with it. Gummies, on the other hand, seem softer and less clingy to me... maybe it's just luck or the brand I buy?

My dentist did mention that sour candies are especially acidic and can weaken fillings over time, so maybe that's part of why your gummy worms caused trouble? Either way, now I'm second-guessing my snack choices again...
