"Gummies, on the other hand, seem softer and less clingy to me..."

Hmm, gummies always seemed risky to me. I stick to chocolate—melts away easily, no pulling or sticking. Learned the hard way after a filling scare with licorice... never again. Better safe than sorry, right?

Chocolate's usually my go-to as well, but honestly, gummies haven't given me much trouble yet. Maybe I've just been lucky? Licorice though... totally get you there—had a close call myself once. Still, gummies feel pretty safe compared to that sticky nightmare!

Chocolate's definitely the safer bet overall—melts away without drama. Gummies aren't usually a huge issue, but I've seen enough cases where they've caused trouble to be wary. Honestly, it's not just the stickiness; gummies can wedge themselves into tight spaces between teeth or around dental work, and then you're stuck trying to pry them out. Licorice is another story entirely... had a patient once who lost a crown mid-chew thanks to that stuff. Talk about an expensive snack.

If you're careful and mindful when chewing, gummies probably won't cause major disasters, but from experience, chocolate is just simpler and less risky. Plus, dark chocolate even has some dental benefits—less sugar and melts quickly, so less time for bacteria to feast. Just something else to consider next time you're craving sweets.

Yikes, losing a crown to licorice sounds like a nightmare. I've always been cautious with gummies myself—had braces as a teen and learned the hard way how stubborn those chewy candies can be. Chocolate's definitely my go-to now, especially dark chocolate. Not only does it melt away easily, but I've read somewhere that it even has antioxidants that are good for your gums. Pretty neat bonus if you ask me.

Speaking of makeover disasters though, anyone ever had issues with whitening treatments causing sensitivity afterward? I love the results, but sometimes the aftermath can be pretty uncomfortable for a day or two... Curious if others have found ways to minimize that.

Losing a crown to licorice sounds awful—I avoid sticky stuff altogether these days. I had a similar scare once with caramel popcorn at the movies. Felt this weird crunch and immediately panicked, thinking I'd cracked something expensive. Turned out okay that time, but I've been anxious about chewy snacks ever since. Chocolate is usually safe, though I still worry sometimes about nuts hidden inside bars—biting down wrong on an almond can be pretty nerve-wracking.

About whitening treatments, I totally get what you mean by sensitivity afterward. My dentist recommended using a toothpaste specifically made for sensitive teeth starting a week or so before treatment, and honestly, it did help quite a bit. The sensitivity was still there, but way less intense than before. I've also heard some people talk about fluoride gels or rinses helping afterward, but I haven't tried those myself yet.

One thing I'm curious about though...has anyone else had trouble with veneers feeling strange at first? A friend of mine recently got them done, and she says it's like having someone else's teeth in her mouth. She keeps worrying they'll pop off if she bites into anything tougher than toast. Wondering if that's normal or just anxiety talking...
