I've been nervous about trying hydrogen peroxide because my teeth are pretty sensitive already, but baking soda has been a lifesaver for me too. I usually just mix a tiny bit with water to make a paste—nothing fancy, but it does the trick. And yeah, charcoal toothpaste was a disaster for me as well... felt like sandpaper. Glad I'm not alone there, haha.

Totally relate to the charcoal toothpaste disaster—felt like I was brushing with gravel, honestly. Baking soda has been my go-to as well, especially since I'm always looking for budget-friendly solutions. I've tried hydrogen peroxide once or twice, but it left my teeth feeling a bit too sensitive afterward, so I get your hesitation there.

One thing I've found helpful is just swishing some coconut oil around for a few minutes before bed. Sounds weird, I know... and trust me, the first time felt pretty strange. But surprisingly, it does seem to brighten things up a bit without causing sensitivity issues. Plus, it's cheap and usually already in my kitchen cupboard anyway.

Might not be an overnight miracle, but definitely worth a shot if you're looking for something gentle and wallet-friendly.

I've also tried coconut oil pulling a couple of times, definitely felt odd at first, but it did seem to help a bit. Did you notice any difference in gum health after doing it regularly? I've read mixed things on that. Another thing—have you tried activated charcoal powder instead of toothpaste? It's messy as heck but somehow feels less abrasive. Curious if anyone else found the powder version gentler than the paste...

I've done coconut oil pulling on and off for a couple of years now, and honestly, I did notice some improvement in gum sensitivity after doing it consistently for about two weeks. It wasn't dramatic, but my gums definitely felt less irritated and healthier overall. I think consistency is key—doing it just once or twice probably won't give noticeable results.

As for activated charcoal powder, I totally get what you mean about the messiness! I tried the powder version for a while because I also found the paste versions a bit harsh. The powder felt gentler on my teeth, but I didn't see a huge difference in whitening compared to regular toothpaste. Plus, cleaning up the sink every morning got old pretty fast...lol. Now I just use it occasionally when I feel my teeth need a little extra polish.

Honestly, for quick brightening overnight, I've had better luck with those whitening strips you leave on for 30 mins or so. They're not perfect either, but they do seem to give quicker results without the hassle.

I've tried those strips too, but honestly, they made my teeth feel super sensitive afterward...like drinking cold water became a mini horror movie for a day or two. 😅 I did find brushing gently with baking soda mixed into my toothpaste helped a bit without causing sensitivity. Not a miracle overnight fix, but it definitely made my teeth feel smoother and look slightly brighter by morning.
