I get that same tingling, especially after ice water or even just breathing in cold air. It’s not just you. I tried switching to a “sensitive” toothpaste but honestly, it didn’t help much—actually made my mouth feel weirdly dry. My ortho said to avoid whitening stuff till the braces are off, but I get tempted every time I see a new product… It’s tough trying to keep things bright without making it worse.

That tingling with cold hits home for me—used to think I was the only one. Sensitive toothpaste never did much for me either; sometimes it just made my mouth feel off, like you said. I remember wanting whiter teeth during braces too... but honestly, keeping up with gentle brushing and rinsing was about all I could manage without making things worse. Hang in there—once those braces are off, it gets a lot easier to brighten things up safely. You're definitely not alone in this.

That cold zing is the worst, right? I swear, sensitive toothpaste just made my tongue feel weird and did nothing for the actual sensitivity. When I had braces, I tried those whitening strips once—bad idea. They got stuck in the brackets and I panicked for a solid five minutes. Did anyone else try baking soda? I remember brushing with it before school dances, but honestly, it just tasted like salty regret... Never saw much difference by morning anyway.

Baking soda—ugh, I tried that once before a big school photo and it was like brushing with salty sand. Didn’t notice much difference except my mouth felt super dry all day. I get nervous about any of those “quick fixes” because my teeth are already kinda sensitive... I’ve heard swishing with hydrogen peroxide can help, but honestly, I’m too anxious to try anything that sounds remotely science-lab. Now I just stick to gentle brushing and hope for the best by morning.

I get the worry about “quick fixes,” but I’ve actually used baking soda a few times over the years when I wanted my teeth to look better for something important. It’s gritty, sure, but if you mix it with a little water instead of using it dry, it’s not nearly as rough. Did you try that way or just straight-up powder? Also, about peroxide—my dentist warned me off anything too strong since my gums are on the sensitive side now. Ever tried whitening toothpaste? Not a miracle overnight, but it doesn’t leave my mouth feeling like the Sahara.
