Saw this news segment yesterday about people using stuff like baking soda, strawberries, or even banana peels to whiten teeth overnight. Sounds kinda weird tbh... anyone tried these home hacks and actually seen results?

I've heard about these hacks too, but honestly, I'd be cautious. A dentist once told me baking soda can be abrasive if used too often, potentially damaging enamel over time. Strawberries sound harmless enough, but they're acidic, right? Might not be great for your teeth in the long run. Personally, I've found that regular brushing with a gentle whitening toothpaste and occasional professional cleanings gave me better results without risking damage... Has anyone checked with their dentist about these methods?

Yeah, strawberries and baking soda sound tasty enough for dessert, but maybe not the best combo for your teeth long-term. I've seen a few patients who've gone a bit overboard with DIY whitening hacks, and trust me, enamel doesn't grow back once it's gone. Gentle whitening toothpaste is usually safe if you're consistent, but even then, moderation's key.

Funny storyβ€”had a patient once who swore by rubbing lemon peels on his teeth every night. Sure, they looked brighter at first... until he started complaining about sensitivity. Turns out acid isn't exactly enamel-friendly (who knew?).

Has anyone else tried a hack that seemed harmless at first but ended up causing more trouble than it was worth? Curious to hear some cautionary tales...

Totally agree, lemon peels are definitely a no-go. I've also heard of people using activated charcoal regularlyβ€”seems harmless, right? But turns out it can be pretty abrasive if used too often, leading to sensitivity issues down the line. Moderation really is everything...
