Like, could you dilute it somehow or salvage the batch? I'm curious cause I was thinking about trying a few things out, but knowing me, I'd probably mess up at least once lol. Anyone dealt with this before?
Honestly, dilution might help a bit, but if it's got a funky smell, sometimes that sticks around no matter what you do. I once tried making lavender oil at home—thought I'd be all fancy and spa-like, right? Ended up smelling like grandma's closet mixed with burnt toast. No amount of dilution saved it. Maybe try mixing in something stronger-smelling like peppermint or citrus? Could mask the weirdness a little... or make it worse, who knows.

Haha, been there... sometimes masking just makes it weirder. Ever tried activated charcoal to absorb odors? Works wonders in dentistry, might help here too—or could be a total flop, who knows.
Haha yeah, activated charcoal's pretty solid advice, actually. I've used it a few times to neutralize weird dental product smells, and it really does absorb odors surprisingly well. Another thing you might try is gently reheating your mixture at a low temp to evaporate some of the funkier volatile compounds—just keep an eye on it so you don't end up cooking it even more. Learned that the hard way once... kitchen smelled like burnt lavender for days.

Activated charcoal sounds interesting, hadn't thought of that before. I've had luck diluting overly strong herbal tinctures with more carrier oil or alcohol. It doesn't totally fix it, but at least makes it usable without overwhelming my kiddo's sensitive nose...
