Hypothetically, if you tried extracting some herbal stuff at home—like oils or tinctures—and it went kinda wrong (maybe too strong or weird smell or something), how would you fix it?

Haha, peppermint toothpaste mixed with grass clippings sounds like a real treat... I've had my share of herbal fails too, like when my chamomile infusion turned bitter enough to strip paint. Did you try adding anything sweet to balance out that grassy flavor?

Been there with the bitter chamomile infusion—it's surprisingly easy to over-steep, especially if you're distracted (like me chasing after my kiddo mid-process...). Adding honey or even a splash of apple juice can help mellow out grassy or bitter notes. Also, diluting it with plain water bit by bit helps you pinpoint the right balance without losing too much potency. Hang in there, herbal experiments always have their quirks, but they're worth the effort once you nail it.

I've definitely panicked over a weird-smelling tincture before... Diluting helps, but also letting it sit uncovered for a bit can mellow out strong odors. Sometimes patience is the best fix—herbal stuff tends to settle down after a day or two. Hang in there!

Totally agree with this. I once made a lavender-chamomile oil infusion for my kiddo that smelled weirdly sharp at first (kind of medicinal, honestly). Thought I'd messed up big time. But after letting it sit in a loosely covered jar for about three days, it mellowed significantly and ended up smelling pretty nice. Dilution definitely helps too, but giving it a little breathing room and time usually does the trick.

Had a similar experience with rosemary oil—came out way too strong and almost bitter smelling at first. I ended up diluting it bit by bit with plain carrier oil over a couple days, and it mellowed nicely. Patience really is key sometimes...
