When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, those little plastic syringes were a lifesaver for flushing out food bits—though to be honest, it still felt like a delicate operation every time. The metallic taste lingered for days, no matter what I tried. Mouthwashes just made it weirder. For me, it was mostly patience and sticking to yogurt and mashed potatoes. I wish there was a real fix for that taste, but I never found one. Your daughter sounds way more coordinated than I was... I kept poking the wrong spot.

Totally get what you mean about the metallic taste—mine stuck around for almost a week, and honestly, nothing really masked it. Did your dentist say anything about using saltwater rinses? Mine swore by them, but I felt like it just made my mouth feel even weirder. And those syringes... I swear I was more likely to accidentally squirt water up my nose than hit the right spot. Did you get any tips on how to aim better, or was it just trial and error for you too?

That metallic taste drove me nuts, too—I kept thinking I was chewing on pennies or something. My dentist also pushed the saltwater rinses, but honestly, it felt like it just made my mouth drier. As for those syringes, I had to practice in front of the mirror a few times... still managed to splash my cheek more often than not. Eventually I just aimed for “close enough” and called it a win.
