After that, I sniff the box (no shame) to see if I even like the smell. Last thing—if it’s on sale, that’s a bonus. Anybody got a better system or swear by a brand that actually does what it says?

Here’s what I do to try to keep my enamel in good shape: First, I use a toothpaste that says it’s for “repair” or “strengthening” enamel—usually with fluoride. I brush twice a day (sometimes three if I’ve had something sugary, but I’m not perfect). I try not to brush too hard since I heard that can actually wear enamel down. And I wait about 30 mins after acidic stuff like OJ before brushing. I dunno, does anyone have a better routine or is there a toothpaste you swear by?

I can’t stand the super gritty ones—feels like I’m brushing with sand. But the really smooth gels almost seem too slippery, like they’re not doing anything. I picked up both Parodontax and Corsodyl, but now I can’t decide which one to stick with. Parodontax tastes… kinda salty? Corsodyl foams less but the flavor is weirdly medicinal. My “armor” is this blue minty paste that claims to toughen up enamel, but honestly, I can’t tell if it’s working or if it’s just making my mouth feel cold.
I swear, picking out toothpaste for my 4-year-old is like negotiating a peace treaty. Last week, she decided her old strawberry one was "too spicy" (??), so now we're on a quest for the perfect flavor. We stood in the aisle for ages, her sniffing the boxes and me trying not to laugh. She finally settled on this blue bubblegum one, but now she only wants to brush if she can squeeze the tube herself.

Is this just a phase, or do all kids get weirdly picky about toothpaste? I don't remember caring at all when I was little, but maybe my parents just didn't give me options. Anyone else have a kid who treats toothpaste like it's a gourmet dessert menu? Any tricks for getting them to actually stick with one?

I've been dealing with sensitive teeth for a while now, and honestly, it's getting pretty annoying. You know when you take a sip of ice-cold water or bite into something sweet and suddenly your teeth feel like they're getting zapped? Yeah, that's me lately. Anyway, I've been bouncing between Sensodyne and Pronamel toothpaste for the past few months, and I'm still kinda torn.

Sensodyne seems to work pretty well at calming down the sensitivity, especially when it comes to cold stuff. But I don't know, it feels like it doesn't do much else besides that. My teeth don't feel super clean afterward, and the taste is kinda meh. Pronamel, on the other hand, feels like it cleans better and leaves my mouth fresher overall. Plus, I heard it's supposed to help strengthen enamel, which sounds pretty good since my dentist mentioned my enamel was wearing thin.

But here's the thing—Pronamel doesn't seem quite as effective at stopping that sharp sensitivity pain. Like, it's okay, but I still get those occasional jolts when I eat ice cream or have a cold drink. I'm stuck in this weird toothpaste limbo, switching back and forth every other week, trying to decide which one is actually better.

Has anyone else tried both of these? Curious if you've noticed a difference or if maybe there's something else out there that's even better. I'm open to suggestions because this whole sensitivity thing is getting old fast.
