Kinda stumbled onto this by accident—was trying to clean my old sneakers and ran out of cleaner, figured toothpaste might do the trick (I mean, it whitens teeth right?). Turns out, it totally worked. Just rubbed it on with an old toothbrush, let it sit a few minutes, then wiped off. Sneakers look crazy clean now. Curious if anyone else has random toothpaste hacks they've discovered by accident or from grandma's secret stash of wisdom...

Funny you mention sneakers—I actually tried toothpaste on my car headlights once. They were super foggy and someone told me toothpaste could clear them up. I was skeptical, but figured why not? Rubbed some on, buffed it out, and surprisingly, it worked pretty well. Not perfect, but definitely clearer. Wonder if there's something special in toothpaste or if it's just the mild abrasive action doing the trick...

Pretty sure it's mostly the mild abrasive action. Toothpaste has tiny particles that gently scrub away grime and oxidation, which is why it works decently on headlights. I've actually used toothpaste to buff out minor scratches on my phone screen before—nothing deep, just those annoying surface-level scuffs. It didn't make them vanish completely, but definitely made them less noticeable.

Speaking of unexpected hacks, has anyone tried toothpaste for removing stains from white clothes? I heard somewhere it can help lift small ink or coffee stains if you rub it in gently and rinse thoroughly afterward. Haven't tested it myself yet though... bit hesitant to risk ruining a good shirt. Curious if anyone's brave enough to confirm this one?

I've actually tried toothpaste on a coffee stain once—total desperation move after spilling coffee on my favorite white tee at work. I gently rubbed a tiny bit of toothpaste into the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinsed it under cold water. Surprisingly, it faded quite a bit, though it didn't disappear completely. Didn't ruin the fabric either, thankfully... might depend on the toothpaste brand or fabric type though.

Never thought toothpaste would be my go-to for anything other than teeth, but here we are. Had a scratched-up phone screen protector and wasn't about to drop cash on a new one just yet. Figured, why not? Dabbed a tiny bit of toothpaste on a soft cloth, rubbed gently in circles, wiped it clean... and honestly, the scratches are way less noticeable now. Not perfect, but good enough to hold me over till payday, lol.
