"Did your sunglasses end up cloudy too, or was it more of a scratchy mess?"

Actually curious about this too—I've seen people recommend toothpaste for scratches countless times, but as someone who deals with toothpaste daily (though admittedly in a very different context!), I always wondered how effective it really is. It makes sense it'd leave some cloudiness since toothpaste can be abrasive. Maybe a gentler paste would help? Either way, props for trying it out... I'd probably chicken out and stick to polishing jewelry or something less risky.

I've tried toothpaste on sunglasses before, and honestly, it didn't end well for me. Maybe I was too ambitious or used the wrong kind, but mine ended up with this weird cloudy film that wouldn't go away no matter how much I rinsed. I guess toothpaste might work better on sturdier surfaces, like headlights or something? Personally, I'd rather not risk my shades again—lesson learned the hard way...

Totally feel you on that cloudy sunglasses disaster—I tried the toothpaste trick once too, thinking my shades would sparkle like a toothpaste commercial smile. Nope, ended up looking like they had cataracts instead. 😅 But weirdly enough, toothpaste has been a lifesaver for my orthodontic retainers. It clears away stains and freshens them up nicely without damaging anything. Guess toothpaste is picky about what it cleans... or maybe our sunglasses are just cursed?

I had the same cloudy sunglasses fail, but toothpaste actually saved my phone screen once. Had a tiny scratch, rubbed gently with toothpaste and a soft cloth... scratch practically vanished. Maybe sunglasses just have some weird coating toothpaste hates?

Tried toothpaste on sunglasses once too, total disaster—just made the lenses foggier. But weirdly enough, it worked wonders on my old watch face. Maybe it's about the material or coating? Anyone know if toothpaste damages anti-glare stuff?
