Getting a good brush around brackets when packing light
A compact travel toothbrush seems easier to pack and keep clean, but I’m unsure whether its smaller head makes it harder to reach around brackets and along the gumline. Does a travel-size brush give enough access, or is an electric toothbrush’s head easier to guide around braces?
Charging and keeping the brush head covered between uses could make an electric brush less convenient on a trip. For those who’ve compared them, what actually made the bigger difference: portability and storage, or being able to clean around the brackets thoroughly? I’d follow my orthodontist’s instructions and the brush manufacturer’s guidance, but I’m curious how other people weigh the trade-offs.

The smaller head isn’t automatically a disadvantage around brackets. What matters is whether you can place its bristles along the gumline and around each bracket without pressing the head against the wire. If you can, the compact size may make precise positioning easier; if not, a fuller-sized head may be simpler to use thoroughly. That fit is a better guide than head size alone.
