I've actually had the opposite experience with interdental brushes. Maybe it's just me, but I find them tricky to angle properly around my back brackets, and sometimes they bend or break too easily.

"replacement tips weren't just leaking—they were pricey too"
Totally relate to the frustration about water flossers though—mine leaked everywhere and made a mess. Has anyone found a sturdier interdental brush brand, or am I just being too rough on them?

I totally get what you mean about interdental brushes bending easily. When I first got my braces, I went through them like crazy because I'd push too hard trying to reach those tricky back brackets. Eventually, I switched to TePe brushes—they seem a bit sturdier, at least for me. But honestly, it might just be practice and patience... took me weeks before I stopped mangling them regularly.

And yeah, water flossers... I gave up after mine sprayed half the bathroom 😂.

I've had the same issue with water flossers—felt like I needed a raincoat just to brush my teeth. But I'm curious, has anyone tried those orthodontic floss threaders instead? I've been using them for a while now, and they're pretty effective once you get the hang of threading them through. Bit fiddly at first, but at least they don't flood the bathroom...

I've tried those floss threaders too, and yeah, they're definitely less messy than the water flosser. My kiddo struggled with threading them at first, but after a few tries, it became second nature. One thing that helped us was using waxed floss—it slides through the brackets way easier and doesn't fray as much. Still, gotta admit, nothing beats the convenience of those little interdental brushes for quick clean-ups between meals...

Waxed floss definitely makes a difference—learned that the hard way after shredding regular floss between brackets too many times. Those interdental brushes are handy, but honestly, I find them a bit pricey for everyday use. Ended up buying a bulk pack online to save some cash. Now I mostly rely on floss threaders and keep the brushes in my bag for when I'm out... quick and discreet after lunch at work.
