RE: Hypothetically, if you tried extracting some herbal stuff at home - like oils or tinctures - and it went kinda wrong (maybe too strong or weird smell or something), how would you fix it?
Haha, reminds me of the time I tried making chamomile tincture for my kiddo's teething pain. Thought I'd nailed it until the whole kitchen smelled like a flower shop exploded. Ended up diluting with coconut oil - worked ...
RE: Unexpected toothpaste hacks that actually work
Funny you mention aloe vera toothpaste - I picked some up a couple months ago when my kiddo went through a phase of hating anything minty. Honestly, it wasn't bad at all. Super gentle, and he actually liked the mild tast...
RE: Finding the right doc for bone graft surgery - recent story got me thinking
We had a similar experience when my daughter needed surgery last year. The first surgeon we visited had this super sleek office - felt like walking into a spa or something. Honestly, it made me a bit skeptical at first (...
RE: Sensitive Gums Driving Me Nuts - Saltwater Rinse or OTC Gel?
Same here, saltwater was a lifesaver when my kiddo had gum issues after braces. We tried the gel too, but honestly, it wore off pretty quick. Ice packs wrapped in a towel seemed to help more...at least temporarily. Hang ...
RE: tips for healing after mouth biopsy?
Funny you mention smoothies being intense - I actually found them to be a lifesaver after my son's biopsy. But we did have to tweak things a bit. At first, he couldn't handle anything citrusy or acidic either, so we swit...
RE: How Did You Find a Good Dentist for Your Kid?
Haha, same here - I swear my kids think the dentist is some kind of amusement park, while I'm quietly panicking in the corner. But honestly, once you find someone patient and gentle, it makes a huge difference...hang in ...
RE: Finding the right doc for bone graft surgery - recent story got me thinking
Totally agree about trusting your gut. When my daughter needed bone graft surgery, I spent hours diving into online reviews - honestly, it felt like falling down a rabbit hole. One minute I'd feel confident, the next I'd...
RE: how thorough are you with dental checkups?
You know, that's a fair point, but sometimes I wonder if orthodontists can be a bit overly cautious. When my daughter was younger, our dentist kept flagging her teeth as "something to watch," and we stressed about braces...
RE: my dentist warned me vaping could mess up my smile, but I didn't think much of it until yesterday.
Interesting you mention that...my daughter started vaping last year (teenagers, right?), and at her last dentist visit, they pointed out her mouth was unusually dry. She'd been complaining about sensitive teeth too, whic...
RE: WISDOM TEETH OUT - HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO FEEL NORMAL AGAIN?
Smoothies were a lifesaver for my daughter too. Weirdly enough, she found mashed potatoes tricky at first - said they felt too thick or something. Took her about two weeks before she was confidently munching on regular f...
RE: fluoride in toothpaste - do you worry about it?
My kiddo had a similar issue last year. We tried going fluoride-free for a while because I'd read some stuff online that made me nervous, but at the next check-up, our dentist gently nudged us back toward fluoride toothp...
RE: finally brace-free - how would you mark the occasion?
That's exactly what we did with my daughter too. She was dying to get her teeth whitened immediately after the braces came off, but our dentist also recommended waiting a bit. Honestly, she wasn't thrilled about it at fi...
RE: Quick trick my dentist shared to keep cavities away
Haha, totally get what you're saying - cheddar IS tasty. My daughter loves nibbling on cheese cubes after meals, and while I doubt it's doing heavy lifting plaque-wise, at least it's healthier than candy...small wins, ri...
RE: struggling with pain after bone graft - anyone else dealing with this?
My daughter went through something similar after her bone graft last year. She hated heat packs - said they made her leg throb more. Weirdly enough, she preferred cold packs way past the recommended timeline too...guess ...
RE: struggling with pain after bone graft - anyone else dealing with this?
Totally agree with this. My son found ice packs unbearable after his graft, but switching between cold and lukewarm compresses seemed to help more than sticking strictly to one. Everyone heals differently, hang in there.
