I knew getting All-on-4s would be a big deal, but I wasn’t expecting how weird my mouth would feel the first week. It was like my tongue didn’t know where to go and I kept talking funny. The swelling and soreness were manageable, but the weirdest part was just adjusting to the “new teeth” feeling—almost like having a retainer in 24/7. Did anyone else have trouble eating or talking at first? How long did it take before things felt normal for you?

Totally get what you mean about your tongue feeling lost. The first week was super awkward for me too—kept biting my cheek and lisping on certain words. Eating was a slow process, mostly soft stuff at first. It took about three weeks before things felt close to normal, but honestly, even now I notice little differences. Hang in there, it really does get better once your mouth figures things out.

That “tongue feeling lost” thing is so real. I remember thinking my tongue had suddenly become way too big for my mouth, like it was trying to escape or something.

“Eating was a slow process, mostly soft stuff at first.”
Same here. I lived on mashed potatoes and yogurt for what felt like forever. Honestly, even now I sometimes bite my cheek out of nowhere, but it’s way less often. It’s wild how your mouth just slowly adapts, even if it feels weird in the beginning.

That tongue thing threw me off too—I kept thinking, “Did my mouth always feel this crowded?” I found that switching to smaller bites helped a lot. Still get the occasional accidental cheek chomp, but it’s way less now. The adaptation process is wild.

Haha, the accidental cheek chomp is real—happened to me more than once. I remember feeling like my tongue was suddenly too big for my mouth, like it was trying to find a new apartment in there. Took me a couple weeks before eating and talking didn’t feel like a weird science experiment. The brain-mouth coordination just needs time to catch up, I guess.
