That unpredictability is the worst part, honestly. I had a similar thing happen—went in thinking it’d just be a simple extraction, and next thing I knew, they were talking about sinus lifts and extra scans. Did insurance cover any of your surprise add-ons, or was it all out of pocket?
Yeah, the “surprise” extras get me every time. My insurance barely touched the sinus lift—just covered a portion of the extraction and nothing for the scans. Ended up paying more out of pocket than I expected. Did they give you any kind of estimate before starting, or was it all tacked on as things came up? I’ve started asking for itemized quotes, but even then, stuff slips through.
