I've tried a ton of gums over the years, you know, the usual minty stuff from the checkout aisle. Most of them taste good for like 5 minutes and then it's back to square one. But recently I grabbed this gum that's supposed to help your gums and teeth health-wise, not just freshen breath temporarily. It has xylitol or something in it - honestly didn't pay much attention at first, just thought "why not?"

Anyway, I've been chewing it regularly for about two weeks now and I swear my breath is noticeably better even hours after chewing. Like, my mouth feels cleaner overall. Didn't really expect much from it at first but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Curious if anyone else has tried these gums with xylitol or other dental-friendly ingredients? Did you notice any real difference or am I just imagining things here...

You're definitely not imagining things! I've been using xylitol gum for a couple years now, and it's made a noticeable difference. Dentist even commented my teeth looked healthier overall. Stick with it, seems like you're onto something good here.

You're not imagining it. My kid had persistent bad breath, even with regular brushing. Switched to xylitol gum after meals, and within a week or two, it was noticeably better. Dentist said something about it reducing bacteria in the mouth...whatever it is, seems to help. Just make sure your gum actually has enough xylitol - some brands barely have any.
