What if you woke up with dragon breath every day?

Late-night cheese is definitely my nemesis too... I swear, one slice and I’m breathing fire the next morning. It’s funny how dairy seems to be a major trigger for some folks and a total non-issue for others. My kid, for example, could probably down a milkshake before bed and wake up smelling like roses (well, maybe not roses, but you get me). I’ve tried the saline rinse thing myself and honestly, I’m still working up the courage to not make a mess every time. Brushing right after waking up is non-negotiable—otherwise, I’m pretty sure I could clear a room.

Cheese at night is my downfall too—seriously, I can almost taste the regret in the morning. I get what you mean about the dairy thing being random; my partner could eat a whole pizza before bed and not have any issues, but me? Instant dragon breath. The saline rinse is a mess for me every time... I’ve nearly choked more than once trying to do it right. Brushing as soon as I wake up is a must, but I’ve also found that scraping my tongue helps a ton (gross, but true). Anyone else feel like mouthwash just covers it up instead of fixing it?

Cheese is totally my weakness too, especially late at night. I swear, one slice and I’m waking up feeling like I’ve been breathing fire all night. I agree about mouthwash—it just masks things for a bit. Scraping my tongue made a way bigger difference than I expected, honestly. Also, I started flossing before bed instead of just in the morning and that seemed to help a bit with the morning funk... not perfect, but less embarrassing if someone’s around.

Interesting—flossing at night always seemed a bit redundant to me, but maybe I’ve underestimated it. I’ve actually found that making sure I drink a ton of water before bed helps more than mouthwash or tongue scraping. Have you noticed any difference with hydration, or is it just me? Cheese late at night is rough, though... I’m not sure any routine completely fixes that.

Funny thing—I used to skip flossing at night too, thinking brushing was enough. But once I got into the habit, I noticed way less morning funk, even after late-night snacks. Hydration definitely helps, though. Waking up parched always makes it worse for me. Cheese is brutal... no matter what I try, it lingers. Floss plus water seems to be my best combo so far.
