Totally get the anxiety about chewing gum with braces...my kid was the same. But honestly, our orthodontist said sugar-free gum was fine occasionally—it actually helped ease some discomfort. Maybe it's just about moderation and careful chewing? Glad the selfies are helping though, that's a neat idea.

I was actually wondering about gum too...my ortho said to avoid it completely, but honestly, I've been tempted. Maybe I'll try sugar-free carefully sometime. The selfie thing sounds helpful though, might give that a shot!

Haha, I totally get the gum struggle—my ortho was strict about it too, but honestly, sugar-free gum saved me on long drives. Just gotta chew super slow...did anyone else secretly rebel like this or am I alone here?

Haha, my daughter tried the slow chewing trick too...until we had a gum-meets-braces emergency on a road trip. Lesson learned the hard way, trust me. Now it's strictly mints in our car.
