Been using those class II elastics for about four months now, and honestly, I'm kinda surprised. At first, I thought they were just another annoying thing to deal with—snapping bands, awkward yawning, and the lovely experience of accidentally swallowing one (yep, happened once, lol). But lately, I've noticed my bite feels way better, and my jawline even seems a bit more defined. Maybe it's just wishful thinking or something, but I'm pretty sure there's a noticeable difference.

Still, the hassle factor is real. Constantly remembering to put them back in after meals, dealing with soreness, and the weird looks from friends when you're trying to discreetly adjust them in public...ugh. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences. Did you find elastics worth the trouble in the end, or am I just imagining improvements to justify the annoyance?

I totally get where you're coming from with the elastics struggle. I had class II elastics for about six months, and yeah, the snapping and awkward yawns were definitely a thing. I remember once trying to discreetly replace one at a restaurant and accidentally flicking it across the table—right into my friend's pasta. She was not amused, lol.

But honestly, looking back, I'd say they were worth it. At first, I thought I was imagining the improvements too, but when my ortho showed me the before-and-after pics, the difference was pretty clear. My bite felt way more comfortable, and my jawline did look subtly sharper. Friends even commented that something looked different (in a good way), though they couldn't quite pinpoint what it was.

So yeah, the hassle is real, but hang in there. You're probably not imagining things—those little rubber bands really do their job, even if they're annoying as heck sometimes.
