Good points all around. I've noticed mine snap more often when I'm eating tougher foods, even if they're not super chewy. Has anyone else found certain foods seem to cause elastics to break more frequently? Curious if diet adjustments might help too...

I've definitely experienced this too. Even foods that aren't obviously chewy—like crusty bread or apples—can put unexpected strain on elastics. My orthodontist mentioned that biting into things directly (like sandwiches or whole fruits) tends to stress the bands more than cutting food into smaller pieces first. Adjusting how I eat rather than what I eat has helped me quite a bit... might be worth trying before making major diet changes.
