"Maybe it's just about gathering as much info as possible and then trusting your gut?"

I totally relate to this. When I had my bone graft done a couple years ago, I drove myself nuts reading reviews online—half of them sounded fake, and the rest were all over the place. Eventually, I met with two surgeons in person. Honestly, that face-to-face conversation helped way more than any online review. Trusting your gut after actually talking to someone can really ease your mind...it did for me anyway.

Reading your experience really resonates with me. Online reviews can definitely be a mixed bag—some genuinely helpful, others just confusing noise. I've found that personal consultations give you insights no amount of online digging ever could. Face-to-face, you pick up subtle cues about a surgeon's confidence and approach, things you'd never sense from a review. Glad you trusted your instincts; in my experience, that's often the best way to feel truly comfortable with such important decisions.

Totally agree about trusting your gut. When my daughter needed bone graft surgery, I spent hours diving into online reviews—honestly, it felt like falling down a rabbit hole. One minute I'd feel confident, the next I'd be second-guessing everything because of some random negative comment from 2015 (seriously, why do those always stick in your mind?).

Anyway, we finally met with a surgeon who had mixed reviews online, but in person he was calm, patient, and explained everything clearly without rushing us. He even cracked a joke about my daughter's stuffed bunny needing surgery too—corny, but it broke the ice perfectly. That personal connection made all the difference for us. Sometimes you just have to tune out the noise and trust what feels right. Glad you found someone you're comfortable with too!

Reading your story reminded me of a patient I had a while back. She came in super anxious because she'd read some outdated negative reviews about our practice online. We ended up chatting for nearly an hour, going over every detail of her procedure step-by-step. By the end, she was visibly relieved—sometimes that face-to-face interaction really is key. Reviews can be helpful, but they're just one piece of the puzzle...glad you trusted your instincts and found someone who clicked with your family.

Your experience really resonates with me. When I was looking for an orthodontist to handle my braces and eventual bone graft, I went down a rabbit hole of online reviews. Honestly, it made me even more anxious—some people had horror stories, others praised the same practice...it was hard to know what to trust. Eventually, I scheduled a consultation just to get a feel for things myself. We talked through every tiny detail—like you said, step-by-step—and I realized how much context those reviews lacked. My doc explained why certain negative experiences might've happened (outdated techniques, different staff, etc.), and that transparency made all the difference. Reviews are helpful as a starting point, but nothing beats actually sitting down and talking face-to-face with someone who can address your specific concerns directly. Glad you were able to find someone who clicked too...makes the whole process way less stressful.
