I’m unsure when it’s safe to clean directly over a sinus-lift site

After a sinus lift, how do you know which parts of your usual mouth-cleaning routine need to change, and for how long? I’d expect advice to depend on where the graft was placed and any sinus precautions, so I wouldn’t want to assume that a routine that’s fine away from the surgical area is also fine right over it.

I’m especially unsure about brushing near the site, rinsing, and using an oral irrigator. If brushing or rinsing causes bleeding or discomfort, should you stop that part of the routine and ask the surgeon what to do before trying again? What specific instructions did your surgeon give about cleaning directly over the area and resuming your usual routine?
