I don’t want to risk making my teeth more sensitive, but I also hate how obvious the spots are in certain light. If anyone’s got experience with either resin or microabrasion, would love to kno...

I get what you mean about the “nobody really warns you” part—same here, I was shocked at how stubborn those spots are. Honestly, I tried microabrasion before looking into resin, and it did help a bit with the brightness, but didn’t totally blend the spots away. I didn’t find it made my teeth more sensitive, though. Personally, I think the results from microabrasion are kind of hit or miss, especially if the spots are deep. Resin infiltration sounded promising but I couldn’t get past the price either... Wish there was a magic fix, but it’s more like managing expectations.

Totally relate to the sticker shock with resin infiltration. I actually tried whitening strips first (didn’t help at all, just made my teeth tingly). Microabrasion was less scary than I expected, but yeah, my spots are still pretty visible in certain light. If you’re on a budget, I’d say microabrasion is worth a shot, just don’t expect miracles. I wish there was a cheaper fix for this stuff...

I totally get this—my “braces shadows” seem to have their own agenda, like they just want to be extra obvious when I’m under fluorescent lights. I haven’t tried microabrasion yet, but I did ask my dentist about it and she said it can help a little, but it’s not a magic eraser. Kind of a bummer, but at least it’s not too invasive.

Funny enough, I also went the whitening strips route and just ended up with sensitive teeth and basically no change. I thought maybe if I left them on longer it’d work better, but nope. Just more tingling.

I’m curious if anyone’s tried those “icon” resin infiltration things, even though the price is wild. Like, are the results actually that much better? Or is it just another thing that looks good in photos but not so much in real life? I keep hoping someone will invent a $10 miracle gel for this stuff… until then, guess I’ll keep practicing my “smile with my lips closed” pose.
