She still complains sometimes, but it’s way easier than trying to wrangle floss around her back teeth.

Totally get this. Trying to floss my nephew’s teeth felt like wrestling a tiny, slippery alligator—soft picks saved us both some sanity. As for mint floss, yeah, my niece acts like I’m trying to poison her. We switched to bubblegum flavor and suddenly she’s a little more cooperative... until she remembers she hates brushing in general. Kids, right? Hang in there—it does get less dramatic (eventually).

Definitely relate to the “wrestling an alligator” feeling—sometimes I worry more about poking their gums than missing a spot. Soft picks are a lifesaver, but even then, I still double-check for missed spots... just in case. Bubblegum flavor is genius, though. Wish they made adult versions.

- Totally get the fear of poking gums—sometimes I feel like I'm doing more harm than good with those little picks.
- I’ve found switching up between floss and soft picks helps catch what one misses, but it’s still a bit of a guessing game.
- Wish flavors were less “mint overload” and more fun too... why do kids get all the good stuff?
- One thing that helped me: using a mirror with better lighting. Sounds obvious, but it made a real difference spotting those sneaky spots.
- Still paranoid about missing something in the back though—those molars are just built for trouble.

Honestly, I used to stress about that too, but my hygienist said technique matters more than seeing every angle. Sometimes we overthink it. I switched to a water flosser and it’s way less stressful on my gums.

Totally get this. I used to contort my jaw trying to see those back molars—felt like I was prepping for a dental Olympics or something. For me, braces made it even trickier. Flossing with wires in the way? Nightmare fuel. I switched to those little interdental brushes and a water flosser too, and honestly, my gums have never been happier.

Still, I’m paranoid sometimes. Like, what if there’s some sneaky cavity hiding back there that nobody sees until it’s a big deal? But yeah, focusing on the actual brushing/flossing technique instead of obsessing over every angle helped a ton. My ortho said as long as you’re consistent and not shredding your gums, you’re probably doing better than you think.

It’s weird how much mental energy teeth can take up... I wish they’d just cooperate for once.
