I've been using fluoride rinse pretty much every night after brushing for a couple months now, and honestly, my teeth feel cleaner and less sensitive. But then yesterday my friend said using it daily might be overkill and could even cause issues. Um, now I'm kinda second-guessing myself, you know? Curious if other people use it daily or just once in a while...

I've wondered about this too, especially since my dentist recommended fluoride rinse for my kiddo. I get nervous about using stuff daily though... Did your dentist mention anything about frequency or potential downsides?

My dentist actually recommended fluoride rinse for me a few years back when I was dealing with some sensitivity issues. At first, I was pretty hesitant about using it daily tooβ€”didn't want to overdo it or anything. But she explained that as long as you're using the recommended amount (usually just a small capful) and not swallowing it, daily use is generally safe and beneficial, especially if your kiddo is prone to cavities or has weaker enamel.

That said, she did mention that some kids can get mild stomach upset if they accidentally swallow too much, and there's also a chance of fluorosis (those little white spots on teeth) if they're already getting plenty of fluoride from other sources like toothpaste or drinking water. Her advice was to check the fluoride levels in our local tap water first and then decide from there.

We've been using it regularly now for a couple years without any issues, but I still keep an eye on how much my kids use each time...just to be safe.
