Teeth stuff is just a lot sometimes.

Totally get that—oral health can feel overwhelming. You mentioned cutting back on sugary snacks between meals was tough. Have you found any swaps that actually work for you? Some people do better with flavored water or gum, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all thing. Curious if the brushing app has changed your routine much, or just made you more aware?

I've been having pain in some teeth which is why I finally went back. It got unbearable.

That sounds really familiar. I put off my last checkup until the pain forced me in too. Sometimes it’s easy to ignore until it just takes over your day. Honestly, after treatment, I wondered why I waited so long... The relief was such a game changer. Did you notice any swelling or sensitivity to cold? That was my main issue before they found all my cavities.

@bgamer98 Definitely sensitivity to cold and sweet in both teeth.

That sounds just like what my kid went through last year—she’d flinch every time she had ice cream or even cold water. We found using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth helped a bit, but honestly, it was getting those cavities filled that made the biggest difference. It’s tough watching them go through it, but there’s usually some relief pretty quickly after treatment.

Did your dentist talk to you about options before jumping straight to fillings? I had a bunch of sensitivity last year, and my dentist suggested trying fluoride treatments and diet changes first. It actually helped slow things down, though I still needed a couple filled eventually. I’m just always a little hesitant to do fillings right away, especially for kids—sometimes the less invasive stuff can buy time. Did you notice any difference with the toothpaste alone, or was it really only after the fillings?

Totally get that. My dentist’s like a drill-happy cowboy, but I pushed for the “wait and see” approach with fluoride toothpaste too. Weirdly, my teeth calmed down a bit—until I caved and ate a bag of sour gummies. Lesson learned: toothpaste helps, but candy is my kryptonite.
