Switched to a water flosser last year after realizing I'd floss maybe once a week (if that)... Honestly, it's way less hassle, and my kid actually uses it without me nagging. Worth a shot if regular flossing isn't happening anyway.
I tried a water flosser too and honestly wanted to love it, but it just made me nervous...lol. Maybe I'm just clumsy, but every time I used it, water sprayed everywhere and I spent more time cleaning the mirror than my teeth. Ended up going back to those little floss picksβthey're not perfect, but at least I'm not soaking the bathroom daily. Glad it's working out better for you though!

Haha, totally relate to this! Took me weeks to get the hang of it without flooding the sink. Have you tried using it in the shower instead? Less cleanup and way less stress...
I completely get the struggleβmy son had the same issue when he first started using his water flosser. We found that leaning over slightly and closing his lips around the tip helped massively with reducing the splashback. It took a few attempts to master, but now it's second nature. Using it in the shower does sound practical though, especially for young ones who might not have the patience yet...might give that a try next time he's struggling.
We had the same splashback issue at first, but honestly, using it in the shower was a total game changer for us. Less mess, less stress...and my kids actually started flossing regularly without me nagging. Worth a shot if leaning over doesn't fully solve it.
