That cold washcloth trick? Lifesaver, and way cheaper than fancy toys.

You’re spot on there—the simplest solutions really do hold up. I know the urge to sanitize every surface can get overwhelming, especially with all the talk about germs these days. But honestly, a little exposure helps build resilience. I used to obsess over every dropped pacifier, but found that as long as you’re mindful about the big stuff (like those shopping cart handles you mentioned), it’s okay to relax a bit elsewhere. The cold washcloth was my go-to too, and it worked just as well as any of those pricey teething rings. Sometimes less is more, both for your wallet and your peace of mind.

Totally agree—cold washcloths were my secret weapon too. I’d just toss a few in the fridge and rotate them out. One thing I learned from my dental background: as much as we want to keep everything spotless, it’s more important to focus on regular gum massages and wiping down baby’s gums. Those simple habits do more for oral health than any fancy gadget ever could. Funny how the basics really are enough most of the time.

That’s been my experience too. I do wonder, though—did you ever run into issues with babies resisting the gum wipes? I found some little ones just hated it, no matter how gentle I was. Curious if anyone found tricks for that or if it’s just a phase they outgrow.
