I had a root canal a few months ago and my endodontist kept insisting on these follow-up visits. At first, I thought it was just another way to rack up my bill, but honestly, the first checkup did catch a tiny infection starting. They zapped it with antibiotics and it healed up fine, so I guess it was worth it?
But after that, the next couple of appointments felt kinda pointless—just a quick x-ray and a “yep, looks good.” Not complaining, but it made me wonder if all those check-ins are really necessary for everyone or if I just got unlucky with that first hiccup.
Did anyone else have to go back multiple times after their root canal? Was it helpful, or did it feel like overkill? I’d love to hear if this is just standard practice or if some docs are more cautious than others.
