The minty thing gets me too—soap works, but it’s not exactly fresh. I’ve wondered if using a little baking soda would help with that, but I’m nervous about it being too abrasive. Has anyone tried those effervescent tablet cleaners? I’m curious if they actually make a difference or just add another step.

I get what you mean about the abrasiveness. I tried baking soda for a while, but honestly, it made my gums feel a bit raw after a few days. As for those tablet cleaners, I actually think they're worth a shot—my ortho recommended them, and they do seem to help with the weird aftertaste. They’re not magic, but I’d pick them over soap any day. It’s another step, yeah, but at least it doesn’t leave that faint “cleaning product” vibe in your mouth.

Those tablet cleaners are decent, but I actually didn’t love them—kept getting this weird chalky aftertaste. Oddly enough, I switched to just rinsing my trays with warm water and brushing gently with a soft toothbrush, and that’s worked better for me. Maybe I’m just sensitive to the tablet stuff...

Haha, yeah, those tablets are kinda weird. I tried them once and my trays tasted like I licked a sidewalk... not a fan. Warm water and a toothbrush is way less gross, honestly. If it works, it works, right?

Those tablets tasted nasty to me too, like chemical sidewalk chalk or something. Do you guys notice any difference in how clear your trays stay if you skip the tablets and just use a toothbrush? I’m paranoid about mine getting cloudy, but honestly, I can’t deal with that aftertaste every night. Wondering if anyone’s found a trick that doesn’t involve weird cleaning stuff.
