I get what you mean about salt water. I was told to use it after my extractions and honestly, it stings more than it helps sometimes. I still do it out of habit, but I’m not convinced it makes a huge difference compared to just keeping things clean. Maybe it’s just one of those comfort routines from back in the day.

Mashed potatoes were my go-to too. I tried eggs once and they just felt…off. Something about the texture when your gums are still sensitive—hard to explain, but definitely not pleasant. For me, yogurt and cottage cheese worked better at first.

Curious if anyone else found certain foods that surprised them—like, something you didn’t expect to be easy actually was? Or vice versa? I thought soup would be simple, but hot liquids made my mouth ache for a while.

I totally get what you mean about eggs—everyone kept suggesting them, but they just didn’t sit right with me either. Funny enough, I found that overcooked pasta (like really soft noodles) was way easier than I expected. Soup was tricky for me too; the heat and the slurping just made my mouth throb. It’s weird how everyone’s comfort foods are a little different after dental work. You’re definitely not alone in figuring it out as you go.

Eggs were a no-go for me too, which surprised everyone around me. I remember trying mashed potatoes, thinking they’d be a safe bet, but even those felt weird for a while. I actually found cold applesauce was my saving grace—never thought I’d crave that stuff as an adult. Funny how your mouth just decides what’s okay and what’s not after dental work...

Mashed potatoes were weird for me too—felt like eating glue for a while. I tried yogurt, but even that was tricky at first. Applesauce, though, I totally get it. It’s like your mouth just wants cold and smooth, nothing else. I still get nervous trying new foods with these teeth... feels like they might just surprise me again. Funny how picky you get after dental work, huh?

I totally get what you mean about getting picky. After I got my partials, I thought mashed potatoes would be my go-to, but they just stuck everywhere and honestly didn’t taste right. Yogurt’s been hit or miss for me, especially the thicker kinds—they just feel weird with the new teeth. Applesauce is solid, though. I’ve also found myself second-guessing every grocery purchase now, like, “Is this worth the risk?” Kinda wild how much dental work changes your whole food routine... and your budget too, honestly.
