Ever heard of filing teeth to ease sensitivity?

My dentist mentioned the other day that gently filing or reshaping teeth can actually help reduce sensitivity. Sounded weird at first, but kinda makes sense... has anyone else heard something similar or tried this themselves?

Hmm, I get the logic behind reshaping teeth to reduce sensitivity, but honestly, I'd be cautious about jumping into that. My daughter had some sensitivity issues, and our dentist recommended a fluoride varnish treatment insteadβ€”worked wonders without altering tooth structure. Filing might help temporarily, but wouldn't it potentially thin the enamel even more over time? I'd probably explore less invasive options first... just my two cents.
