"Ever tried hydrogen peroxide for whitening? Heard it's gentler than bleach, but haven't dared test it myself yet."

I've actually tried hydrogen peroxide a few times, and honestly, it's pretty effective. Definitely gentler than bleach—no harsh smell or fabric damage so far. Just dilute it with water (about equal parts), dab it onto the stain, let it sit for maybe 10-15 mins, then wash normally. Worked wonders on my coffee-stained shirts. Might be worth giving it a shot if you're hesitant about bleach...

I've thought about trying hydrogen peroxide, but honestly, doesn't it fade colors too? Always worried I'll accidentally lighten something I didn't mean to... Anyone had issues with colored fabrics getting messed up?

I've used hydrogen peroxide quite a bit for stain removal, and honestly, it's usually pretty safe if you're careful. The key is testing it first on a small hidden spot—like the inside hem or seam—to see how the fabric reacts. I've had one or two mishaps (nothing major, thankfully), but that was mostly because I got impatient and didn't dilute it enough or left it on way too long.

If you're worried about colors fading, stick to a weaker dilution and shorter soaking time. Also, darker fabrics tend to be more sensitive, so definitely test those first. But overall, I've found peroxide to be gentler than bleach and pretty reliable if you're cautious. Funny enough, I learned this trick from dealing with coffee stains on my scrubs—trust me, dentists know a thing or two about stubborn stains...

I've used peroxide on scrubs too, and yeah, it usually works great...but I still get nervous every single time. Had a navy pair fade weirdly once—probably left it soaking too long. Lesson learned: always set a timer, lol.

Totally agree about the timer—it's easy to underestimate how fast peroxide can fade darker colors. I've found that diluting it slightly with water helps reduce the risk of uneven fading, especially on darker fabrics like navy or black. Also, rinsing thoroughly afterward seems to make a difference in preserving color integrity. It's a bit more effort, but worth it to avoid those surprise discolorations...
