I just found out something pretty interesting about dental bridges the other day. Apparently, even though they're artificial, they still need almost as much care as your real teeth. I mean, you can't get cavities in them obviously (thank goodness), but the gums and teeth around them can still get infected or decayed if you're not careful. My dentist said floss threaders or water flossers are like your best friends in this caseβ€”regular floss doesn't always do the trick. I never really thought about it until now, but makes sense I guess.

Also, apparently chewing ice or hard candy is a big no-no. I was guilty of that one...oops. But seriously, bridges can chip or crack easier than you'd think.

Anyway, made me wonder if anyone else has any handy tips or interesting facts about keeping these things in good shape. Or maybe some cautionary tales from personal experience? I'm all ears...

Yeah, totally relate to this. My previous dentist didn't stress floss threaders enough, so I ended up with irritated gums around my bridge...not fun. Glad you're catching this early though!
