Bright colors never really helped me much tbh—I could lose mine even if it glowed in the dark. Those clip cases sound handy, but knowing my luck, I'd probably forget to clip it back after using it and end up losing both the case AND the guard. I've started just keeping mine in a small tray on my nightstand. Not fancy, but it's harder to misplace something when it's always in the same spot...usually.

Haha, I feel this so much. I tried the bright neon cases too, thinking they'd be impossible to lose—turns out, not so much. One time I even found mine in the fridge (still no idea how it got there). Eventually, I settled on a similar approach to yours: a little ceramic dish by the sink. It's nothing special, just something I picked up at a thrift store, but somehow having a dedicated spot really helps. Of course, there are still mornings when I'm half-asleep and panic because it's not there...only to realize I left it soaking in cleaner overnight. But hey, at least it's usually within arm's reach now.
I totally get the logic behind having a dedicated spot, but honestly, I've found that keeping mine by the sink or nightstand actually made things worse for me. Maybe it's just my sleepy brain, but I tend to knock things over or accidentally drop stuff when I'm fumbling around in the dark. After one too many late-night searches under the bed (and once even behind the dresser—still not sure how it bounced that far), I switched to keeping mine in a drawer instead.

Haha, that's hilarious! Reminds me of when I found my glasses chilling next to the milk carton...guess our subconscious selves have a sense of humor. Anyway, having mine tucked away in a drawer has been surprisingly helpful—it's out of sight but still easy enough to grab. Might not work for everyone, but if you're prone to knocking things around like me, it could be worth a shot.

Haha, the fridge thing cracked me up—I've definitely done something similar. Once woke up in a panic because my mouthguard wasn't where I usually leave it...turned out I'd put it in my glasses case for some reason. Guess sleepy brains just love messing with us. I've been thinking about trying the drawer method, though; might keep me from accidentally launching mine across the room again.
Haha, the glasses case thing sounds familiar. My kid once woke me up at 2 am because he couldn't find his retainer anywhere. We tore apart his room, checked under the bed, even went through the trash (gross, I know)...nothing. Finally found it tucked neatly inside his sock drawer—no idea how or why it ended up there. Sleepy autopilot is a real thing, apparently.
I'm curious though, does anyone else notice these weird placements happen more often when you're extra tired or stressed? I've noticed my kid tends to misplace stuff way more during exam weeks or after late-night sports practices. Maybe our brains just short-circuit a bit when overloaded...
