I totally get this. Tried the cheek method once when I knocked out a molar in high school—ended up swallowing it during a sneeze. Never again. Gauze was messy for me too, but at least I could keep track of the tooth. Milk cartons are underrated, honestly. Quick and easy, plus no weird taste in your mouth.
