I drink coffee like it's water, and my teeth were paying the price big time. Got veneers a few months back, and honestly, I was skeptical they'd hold up against my caffeine addiction. But you know what, they're still looking pretty darn good. I mean, I still brush and all, but no more obsessive whitening strips or panic every time I sip espresso. Anyone else had good luck keeping their veneers looking fresh?

My daughter got veneers last year after a pretty rough soccer accident chipped her front teeth. Like you, we were worried about staining or damage, especially since she loves her iced coffees and teas. But honestly, they've held up surprisingly well. I did a ton of research beforehand, and apparently porcelain veneers are pretty resistant to staining compared to natural enamel. Did your dentist mention anything about the type of veneers you got? Porcelain tends to hold up better than composite resin from what I've read.

One thing our dentist did stress was to watch out for abrasive toothpastes or aggressive brushing habits, because they can dull the surface over time. We switched her to a gentler toothpaste and soft-bristle brush just to be safe. Have you adjusted your brushing routine at all?

Anyway, glad you're having good luck with yours—it's definitely nice not having to stress over every cup of coffee anymore. My daughter says it's been a huge relief not worrying about stains or discoloration when she's out with friends grabbing drinks after school. Sounds like you're experiencing something similar...coffee should be enjoyed, not feared, right?

Interesting, my dentist mentioned something similar—said abrasive toothpastes could gradually dull porcelain veneers. I've been using a softer brush and milder toothpaste since then, and so far, no issues even with daily coffee. Glad it's working for your daughter too.

That's interesting, but honestly, I've been using regular toothpaste (nothing fancy or super mild) for years now, and my veneers are still holding up pretty well. Maybe I'm just lucky—or maybe my coffee addiction has created some kind of protective coating, haha. Seriously though, I do agree about the brushing habits part. I used to brush way too hard thinking it would keep stains away, but my dentist warned me that aggressive brushing was actually doing more harm than good. Switching to a softer brush made a noticeable difference for me.

I guess what I'm saying is, while milder toothpaste might help some people, it's probably not a one-size-fits-all solution. Everyone's teeth (and coffee habits!) are different, so it's worth experimenting a bit to see what works best for you. Glad you found something that's working though—coffee drinkers unite!

I totally relate to the brushing too hard thing. I used to scrub my teeth like crazy thinking it would keep coffee stains away, but ended up with sensitive gums instead. My dentist also recommended switching to a softer brush and just being gentle—made a huge difference for me too.

About veneers, I've had mine for about four years now, and honestly, they've held up surprisingly well against my daily coffee habit. I don't do anything special either, just regular toothpaste and flossing. Occasionally I'll use one of those gentle whitening mouthwashes, but nothing obsessive. I think veneers are just naturally more resistant to staining compared to real enamel, so maybe that's why we're all having decent luck.

Funny enough, my dentist once joked that coffee drinkers like us are probably keeping him in business—but hey, at least we're not panicking about stains anymore. Glad to hear others are having similar experiences...makes me feel less guilty about my caffeine intake.
